Shymkentcement  is not focusing only on development of the construction industry, production of high quality cement and creation new jobs. The social responsibility is very importatnt for Shymkentcement, a subsidiary of Italcementi Group. The company believes that the larger the company, the greater is its social responsibility.
Our community development projects include providing help to the most vulnerable groups of people, environmental
protection and infrastructure development. Year after year Shymkentcement sponsors budget-funded organisations, WWII veterans, orphanages and large low-income families.

In 2007-2008 the company provided a big support for road repairs and replacement of piping  in the village located near the company's quarry. In Kentau, Shymkentcement sponsored the refurbishment of a school for handicapped children and supported the local veterans.

With the aim to extend Social Responsibility practices of Shymkentcement and enhance  its relationship with the local communities, the company and Akimat of South Kazakhstan oblast signed Memorandum of Understanding in 2008.

During 2009 the Company implemented several projects in South Kazakhstan

They are:

• reconstruction of bridge Koshkarata
• construction of fountain in Ordabasy square
• support to educational institutional
• computer courses for the teachers
• salvation of Shymkent unique National Park
• rehabilitation of the square Ordabasy
• orphanage support 

KZT 43,8 M was allocated to the construction works in Ordabasy Square and reconstruction of the bridge in Koshkarata.

As part of a project to improve  the infrastructure in Shymkent, the company sponsored the reconstruction of the Dendropark. Total amount of this project is KZT 13,7 M.

Shymkentcement also partcipited in reconstruction of Specialized City Orphanage.
Total amount of this project is over KZT 100 M. Shymkentcement allocated KZT 22,6 M to this project.

Within the program "Support to educational institutes" the company fully equipped computer class in Akbastau village, which is located near our quarry. Along with computers, printer and scanner, a new furniture was installed in the computer classroom; and wiring was newly laid.

In school #2 named after Bokeikhanov all winows were renewed.

The Company actively contributes to the sustainable development of the Oblast and is closely integrated with the working environment and surrounding communities.
