Shymkentcement based in Shymkent city of Southern Kazakhstan region was founded in 1958. Production capacity of the plant is 1.3 Mln ton cement. Its cement has been used for the construction of Baikonur space center, Almaty and Tashkent airports, Kashirsk and Nureksk hydroelectric stations, Karakum channels and other well known facilities in Kazakhstan and neighbor countries. Nowadays, products of Shymkentcement are also used in construction of State Projects. Cement, produced by Shymkentcement, is used for construction of the houses in microdistrict ‘”Asar” for ethic immigrants returning to their historic homeland. Also, Shymkentcement produces special type of cement - sulphate resistant cement for the construction of water reservoir in Koksarai.
